Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
Christmas snuck up on me once again and I have been frantically running around trying to get everything done in time. In the middle of all the stress and mile long to-do list, there are two tiny humans in our home who view the holidays with only excitement and joy. They are always reminding me how I need to slow down and focus on what really matters…what a wonderful world this would be if we all were filled with the same child-like wonder.
This post marks the last entry in my year long project where I have committed every month to get in front of the camera with my children. Many months have been challenging and there have been times that I have felt like giving up, but I am incredibly thankful that I was surprisingly able to make it to the end. As a photographer, I am usually the one behind the camera and there are always a million reasons why I don’t feel like being photographed most days (things that my children could care less about). If it weren’t for this project, I know I would have very few (if any) portraits of me with my babies from this year. Even though the days are long right now, the years are short and they are growing up so fast. There is something about looking at images of me with my babies that causes all the difficult aspects of motherhood to fade away and leave me filled only with love for them. My hope is that these photographs we have created this year will one day be treasured heirlooms that they can show their children and their children’s children how much they were truly loved. Please continue the blog circle to see what everyone has to share, starting with my talented friend Amy of Sweet Caroline Photographie.

You have a beautiful family
[…] One year (minus a couple months) of me, with my boys, in front of a camera. Such a gift to have these little treasures for us to always remember us. How we were together. Thank you so much for following me on this journey. Be sure to continue the blog circle with my friend Bethany with Bethany Mattioli Photography […]
